RSI Interpreter

RSI Interpreter is a macOS and Windows booth application for remote interpreters to listen to floor or relay audio and work on their assigned language channels.

Available platforms: Windows, macOS

Remote interpreter booth

Audio, video, and booth controls in one workspace

RSI Interpreter is a separate macOS and Windows application built for remote interpreters. Before the session begins, the operator assigns each interpreter's identity and A/B languages. The interpreter then joins with a private, one-use invitation.

Every session starts muted. The interpreter listens to the floor or an available relay language, follows the program video, and goes on air in an assigned A or B language when ready.

Interpreter workspace

Listening source and A/B outputs on one screen

Interpreters can switch between floor audio and available relay languages. Their two assigned output languages have separate controls, with microphone and on-air status always visible.

Joining a session

Start working in four clear steps

  1. Import the private invitation

Open the one-use invitation created specifically for you by the operator.

  2. Check your microphone

Choose the intended microphone and confirm its signal with the in-app level meter.

  3. Join muted

Confirm the floor audio, program video, and your assigned A/B languages before speaking.

  4. Go on air in A or B

Select the required language when ready; the app requests transmission rights from the operator-managed session.

Controlled transmission

Only one interpreter on air per language

If another interpreter is already transmitting on a language, the session prevents a second feed from going on air. A lost connection stops microphone transmission, and a new invitation is required to rejoin.

Use cases

Sessions where interpreters work away from the venue

  • Remote simultaneous interpretation
  • Hybrid meetings
  • Relay interpretation workflows
  • Backup interpreter workstations
  • Multilingual online sessions
  • Controlled pilot deployments

Desktop application

The interpreter side of the RSI platform

RSI Interpreter runs on macOS and Windows computers. The macOS version supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The app does not replace RSI Router and does not connect directly to Zoom; it provides the interpreter workspace inside an RSI session managed through the operator bridge.
